Walloon Saloon: The Walloon Hotel was in existence by at least 1891 when its licensee was Sarah Lawson. Walloon is a very historic township, growing up around one of the original stations on the first railway line in Queensland. A school opened in 1865 and coal mining began in the area in the 1870s. The Walloon Hotel is ear marked for a new building as not much is left of the historic old pub over the years just hope they can save something. The Walloon Hotel has some unconfirmed history, and I may stand corrected, see how I go the in 1877 the Walloon Hotel opened north of the Walloon rail station and a public school. “Walloon Saloon” Walloon Hotel was in existence by at least 1891 when its licensee was Sarah Lawson.
