The Iconic Pacific Hotel sit proud on top of the hill the Art Deco pub still stands majestically overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the month of the mighty Clarence River the pub overlooks Main Beach framed by pandanus and Norfolk pines, and an ocean pool the lighthouse the pub offers view like no other you can spot whales and dolphins while sipping on a cold beer or a good red wine in the bistro.
In 1908, the Yamba Surf Lifesaving Club was formed and is one of the oldest surf clubs in the world. Yamba was a great fishing town with cane and cattle farming supporting the town and the develop as a tourist destination in the 1930s. Yamba is a magical spot with national parks, eleven beaches’ Turners, Whiting, Yamba Main Beach, Convent or McKittricks, Pippi, Flat Rock (Barri Point), and Barri known locally as Dump Beach. Nearby beaches to the north include Woody Head, Iluka Bluff, Back Beach (Iluka), and to the south Green Point, Spooky, Angourie Bay, Angourie Point, Back Beach (Angourie), Shelley, Caves, and Plumbago.
