Original German immigrant, John Christopher Pabst, became the first publican of the Woolpack Hotel on 29 July 1840. The town had many names and the publicans at the time named to town to suit their feeling at the time, the Riverina Hotel known as the Riv is part of Australian history and the towns got a rather large sub marine parked in the middle of town The HMAS Otway in the park great place to stop and let the kid run amuck and stretch the legs a nice park with a huge sub marine ?
