29 Kyeamba Street, Mangoplah, NSW, Australia, New South Wales located just outside Wagga Wagga farming area with some gold in the hills and a bit found near Mangoplah as the Mangoplah inn was gone and the licence transferred. The pub is in a small country town has history with a great AFL football team dating back to 1936 with large parties after he games and a wee bit of drinking with the curtain closed during prohibition 1956.

I didn’t get the chance to go into the pub and have lunch or diner it was not open a the time only restricted times so just give them a call the review read well I will have to wait to next time to have a beer and something to eat next time I am in town.

Australia. It is a destination hotel will know for it live music, upmarket accommodation, wine dinners and great food. I have been hanging out to visit the pub and finally made it on Anzac Day and what a day the pub rocks great mix of a crowd families, locals, rockabillies to the well fashioned, The Eltham Hotel credit to the owner and management have created this wonderful environment to just chill out. The pub was built in 1888 two stories’ verandas all round timber from local cut hard wood “check out the floorboards” it was a Red cedar village timber town now upmarket farms and macadamia nuts and small crops and a few yup farms. It has a rich history and has served as a gathering place for locals and visitors, Clunes and Lismore are just down the road, I travelled from Tweed Heads just over an hour.
Ok, this pub has a “No dick Head Policy” it has a lot of yuppy beers, and spirits dose not open till 11am or so. And closes late I slept across the road in the car I had a great day and didn’t drink to much as I planed to drive but having such a great time I decided to pull out the swag and sleep near the railway line (no trains and more) Two up was great about 300 people all friendly had dinner at 7 pm when it started to quite down and the food next level that why it s a destination food venue heaps of history in and around Eltham something for everyone and during the week. Enjoy local bands and musicians performing live on weekends. From acoustic sets to rock ‘n’ roll, the Eltham Hotel’s stage comes alive with music. trivia nights. The hotel occasionally hosts food and wine events, featuring local produce, gourmet dishes, and fine wines. A treat for foodies.
A bit of history below about the pub excerpt “Northern Star Lismore Saturday 7 August 1897” Opening of the Jubilee Hall at Eltham. If some of the early cedar-cutters, who for many years made Cowlong Grass and Midgee Grass their camping places while hunting out the cedar from the dense surrounding brushes, could have looked on the scène at Eltham last Wednesday they would have realised how the world is advancing, and the great progress that part of the district is making, In place of the two patches of forest, then termed Grasses, there is now a large area of several thousand acres clear land in view ; a railway, with trains halting and passing four times a day ; an iron railway bridge, besides;the roads bridge, a sawmill, dairy factory, two-storey well appointed hotel, numerous comfortable farm homesteads in view, school house, and the latest addition – a public hall - with flags fluttering in the breeze. . Indeed, not to go so far back as the early cedar days we had only to think of a period of ten years ago, when we first saw Mayfield, to realise what a great change had taken place, and how much has been. Done in that brief space. There was no bridge there at that lime, and to get to Clunes there was only a bridle track, while much of the land now cleared was then standing brush. Twelve years ago Mr. W. Walmsley, sen., purchased the property on which his homestead stands, and to get to the pretty knoll on which his residence is built he. Had to cut his way with a brush hook. With great faith in the future of the district he erected substantial improvements, cleared extensively, built a hotel when it was required, and laid the foundation for a thriving village in the future. Messrs. C. Hetherington, Laureldale, and W.H. Gray, just opposite, have in like manner well improved properties.
As there was another Mayfield a postal town, another name had to be found, and this was Eltham. It is ten miles from Lismore, and the trip by rail takes 34 minutes. The want of a public hall for meetings having been felt it did not take the people long to devise ways and means of getting one erected, and it was to formally open it that the gathering has taken place. Mr. J. F. O'Flynn, the Mayor of Lismore, was invited to perform this function, and there was a fair sprinkling of visitors from town.
