Tabulam has history just outside of town are some great camping and old gold mining digs, the birthplace of Lieutenant General Sir Henry Chauvel of the famous Light Horse Brigade, and some great footballers come from Tabby one of Tabulam’s claims to fame.
The town in 1885, Tabulam is the only other ‘town’ on the Clarence River besides the city of Grafton. Tabulam Hotel is a great base, with rainforest not far away with platypus, turtles and crystal-clear creeks this country offers. Discover the “Brisbane Line” where Australia would defend itself in 1944 if invaded, give the enemy Queensland and defend from Tabulam the pub would go off, you can find them southwest of the town World War II Tanks Traps, part of the infamous ‘Brisbane Line’, through pockets of rainforest and onto some of the most scenic country around. Tabulam village has about 150 people located on the Bruxner Highway between Tenterfield 73 kilometres and Casino 58 kilometres.
