We arrived in the morning after a night in Clermont and stayed in the Commercial Hotel and visited “Copperfield” halfway from Clermont to Teresa Creek Dam a historical remain of the town are still some what still there the brick chimney local store and grave site worth a look and the Theresa Creek Dam for a morning coffee and bacon and egg burger great escape location. Caravans, kids running amuck in the water and playground swimming, fishing, eating relaxing an oasis in central Queensland.

A bit of research on the town of Lawrence it was settled for red cedar with a mix of Irish and Scottish the first pub/hotel known as the Travellers Rest Hotel “Casino Road” 1898, and then mention of of later the Lawrence Hotel and a cattle auction and a bull found its way into the Parlor the proprietor at the time Mr R. Lawson calmly moved to bull back on the road.
I got the ferry over and enjoyed the country drive from Maclean and Yamba to have lunch in the Lawrence Hotel and it was packed and the local fishing club up the end in the pizza bar area
