First beer this morning at the Dooley's Capella Tavern & Motel and a pot of Guinness, the bar manger struggled to pour it as she had never poured a pot of Guinness before, and I said it was to be a long day if I start with a pint am I bad. Great pub and strong community with all the amenities in town pool, equestrian centre, racecourse, golf, museum primary and high schools and the backdrop of the Peak Range century old volcanos, national parks and annual undercover rodeo and gem field. Back to the pub is got its own private pool accommodation new and older style and great place to locate for a few days and explore the local area and the local people farming and mining make up the pub cliental with all the service industry in town the pubs meals are well priced lunch and dinner and they pull a good local trade and travellers dropping in for a few coldies and a steak sandwich.

TROVE 11 February 1938 MODERN HOTEL FOR Emerald 40 More Orders For Improvements Ah example of the modern type of hotel designed for country towns is given in the plans and specifications! for the Leichardt Hote],Emerald which were approved by the Licensing Commission yesterday The new building, which will replace the one destroyed by fire on October 3, 1936, will be of brick and concrete, two stories high, with fibrous plaster walls. It will contain 15 bedrooms, in addition to the usual other accommodation and offices. The hotel will be fitted with electric light throughout, and a septic system will be installed. There will be a wash basin with run running water in each bedroom. The estimated cost is £5000. Forty additional orders calling upon the owners and licensees of hotels and wine sellers' premises to effect certain necessary repairs, additions, and alterations to their premises were issued bv the Commission' yesterday.

The town also has cattle and small cropping and the arts are not missed in town. Tomahawk Creek, which is 40 kilometres away, are relatively close to town. Heaps of kid adventures around town fossicking parks buy a fossickers bag of wash and wash and rinse and sort the sapphires from the gravel. This caravan central good parks and camping spots call ahead to get the correct information of staying but there are heads of places to pull over and turnaround the pub New Rubyvale Hotel is good and well-priced the food is great and a good wine list.
